"All-American"

In October 2008, I was honored at the American Clogging Hall of Fame's World Clogging Championships. I was nominated by several different people which, I have been told, is a rare thing. Only 12 women and 12 men from around the country were accepted to this prestigious team each year. I never thought that I would be one of them.

As a member of the team, I am allowed to nominate others as well. So last summer, I put in a nomination for a hard-working, always determined dancer of my own, Emily Kimble. And guess what? She was accepted to the 2009 Junior All-American Team. Not only was I a part of this amazing group, but so was one of my students. I think I was more happy when Emily received her jacket than I was when I got my own.

Pictured at top: Sundance Express and I when I got my jacket in 2008. They were all so proud of me. I love those kids! They screamed louder than I did when my name was called!

Pictured at bottom: Emily posing with her Junior All American jacket. I was behind the camera trying not to cry. :-)
